SANCTUM

Quiet rooms for a busy life.

A sanctum is the room at the heart of a building, the one nobody interrupts. We make apps that give you that room back, each named for a part of the building around it: Arc for your training, Cloister for your work and Alcove for your studies.

A cloister seen from its courtyard: an arcade of round arches; the entrance arch's curve marked in orange; a reading niche with an open book in the back wall; and at the centre a doorway, lit from inside, with SANCTUM carved above it. SANCTUM

  1. Arc

The curve that carries every arch.

    Arc, for training

  2. Cloister

The covered walk around a courtyard. Step inside and the street goes quiet.

    Cloister, for work

  3. Alcove

A nook in the wall, just big enough to sit and read.

    Alcove, for study

  4. Sanctum

The room at the heart, past every door, where nothing interrupts you.

    Sanctum, maker of all three

One Tuesday, three rooms.

Each app has its own look, because each room has its own job. Here they are across one day: your training plan at 6:42, the email that can't wait at 9:12, and a missed class to catch up on at 4:40.

arc

A good year beats a good day.

Arc reads the ring or watch you already wear and draws your year as one line against your own normal. Every morning it gives one straight answer and one next step.

Arc's Today screen: Recovery 42. Train as planned. HRV, sleep and resting heart rate against your normal, and the push workout as the next session.

cloister

The noise stays outside.

Cloister reads your mail, meetings, chats and tasks, and brings you only what needs you, one thing at a time. Each comes with the reason it matters and, when a reply is owed, a draft ready for you to send.

Cloister: Send Dana the revised renewal terms. Dana has asked twice since Friday. A drafted reply, ready to put in Outlook drafts, and the message that made it urgent.

alcove

Your whole term, in order.

Alcove files every slide deck, reading and lecture under the right class and week, fits the work around the rest of your life, and turns a missed class into a 25-minute catch-up. Ask it anything and it shows the page the answer came from.

Alcove: Catch up on Monday's class in 25 minutes. Four steps built from the posted lecture video: the class in two minutes, what the professor stressed, the brief, and five flashcards.

The company

The room past every door.

We named the company for the room all three apps protect, the one where you get to think. Every app we make keeps the same four promises.

  • You decide. Our apps sort, suggest and draft. Every message that leaves in your name is one you sent.
  • Your data stays yours.Every account is kept apart from every other. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for ads.
  • Quiet by default. We only notify you about something that needs you. No streaks, no badges.
  • Easy to leave.Export everything you've given us, or delete your account and it's gone.
