Contact us
Write to support@sanctum.company. Tell us which app you use and, if you can, the email address on your account. A person reads every message.
Cancel your subscription
How you cancel depends on where you subscribed.
- Through Apple (iPhone, iPad or Mac App Store). Apple bills you, so cancel with Apple at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app, or your account, does not cancel it: billing continues through Apple until you cancel there.
- Through Google Play. Google bills you, so cancel in Google Play’s subscription settings. Deleting the app, or your account, does not cancel it.
- By card, on the web or in the desktop app. Sign in and cancel in the app’s subscription settings, in one step. You can also email support@sanctum.company and we will cancel it for you.
After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again. If you don’t delete your account, we keep your information for one year after you cancel, then delete it. When you cancel, we show you that date, and we remind you before it. If you subscribed through Apple, you cancel in Apple’s settings instead, and the app shows you the date the next time you open it.
Refunds. We don’t give refunds for partial billing periods, except where the law requires it. If we discontinue an app and you paid us directly, we give you a pro-rata refund for the unused part of your paid period. Apple handles refunds for purchases made through Apple: ask at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Google handles refunds for purchases made through Google Play.
Delete your account
You can delete your account inside each app:
- Arc: in Arc’s settings.
- Cloister: in Cloister’s settings.
- Alcove: in Alcove’s settings.
If a step has to happen on the web, the app takes you straight to it.
What deletion removes. Your account and everything that app holds about you: for Arc, your health data and everything Arc worked out from it; for Cloister, your copied mail, calendar, meetings, transcripts, cards and notes; for Alcove, your classes, library, transcripts, outlines and Ask history. It cannot be undone, so get a copy first if you want one: download it in Arc or Cloister, or, for Alcove, ask us at privacy@sanctum.company (see below).
When. Your data is removed from our live systems within 30 days of your confirming. Copies in our backups are gone within a further 30 days. We also tell the service providers that hold your data for us to delete it. If you signed in with Apple, we also end the app’s Sign in with Apple access.
What stays. Anything in your own accounts and folders stays where it is: mail and drafts in your Outlook or Gmail, events in your calendar, files in your own folders, and data in Apple Health, Oura or Withings. We keep payment and subscription records, including your consent to renewal, as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually seven years.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google Play. Cancel it there too.
Get a copy of your data, correct it, and your other rights
- Arc: download your data in Arc’s settings.
- Cloister: download your data in Cloister’s settings.
- Alcove: email privacy@sanctum.company and we will send you a copy in a structured, commonly used format.
You can correct most of your information yourself in the app. For anything you can’t change, write to privacy@sanctum.company and tell us what is wrong.
You can also ask us to delete your information, give it to you in a format you can take elsewhere, stop using it for something you agreed to, or tell you which third parties received it. Write to privacy@sanctum.company; our privacy policy explains each right. Using your rights never changes your price or service.
When we answer. Within 30 days, free of charge. If we need more time and the law allows it, we tell you why within those 30 days. This applies to Arc’s health data too, which has its own policy: https://sanctum.company/health-data.
Privacy contact
- Email: privacy@sanctum.company
- Person in charge of the protection of personal information: our Privacy Officer, reachable at privacy@sanctum.company. This person is accountable for how we handle personal information, including under Quebec law.
Our privacy policy is at https://sanctum.company/privacy.
Appeal a privacy decision
If we turn down a request, in whole or in part, we tell you why. You can appeal by replying to our answer or by emailing privacy@sanctum.company with “Appeal” in the subject. Someone who did not decide the first request reviews it, and we answer within 45 days and explain the result. If you’re still not satisfied, you can complain to your state attorney general, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in Quebec, to the Commission d’accès à l’information. When we deny an appeal, our answer tells you how.
